molawiki
The software that runs this site is my own PHP/MySQL/Apache concoction molawiki, a wiki-powered site engine with support for css-styled 'active' page templates and all sorts of other useful features. Its life cycle began with a thorough examination and attempted modification of an open source PHP product, ErfurtWiki. Since it quickly became apparent that the features I wanted required a nearly complete rewrite of Erfurt, the current iteration of molawiki, still heavily in development, bears practically no resemblance and shares no source code.
Sounds Live Vaporware
Nope. It's running this site. And centenary.edu.
Can I Download It?
Not yet. Maybe someday.
Maybe.
Is This Like that Wikipedia thing?
Yes and no.
Yes — molawiki is software that allows multiple users to collaboratively edit a web site directly through their browsers, building site structure as they edit. It has usual and unusual bells and whistles, allowing for blogs and other kinds of page collections.
No — molawiki is less philosophically motivated than its cousin mediawiki. Molawiki primarily serves the more prosaic goal of providing for wiki-powered content management for sites of any stripe.
